Banking Exams Information

1. How are Banking Exams conducted and who conducts these exams?
A. All those who want to make their career in nationalized banks; it has been decided to introduce a system of Common Written Exams for initial shortlisting of candidates. Nationalized Banking Exams is conducted by Institute of banking Personnel selection.(IBPS). They conduct exams for entry level officer cadre, clerical cadre and specialist officer cadre. This examination is conducted twice a year for each cadre. The candidates appearing for the exam will be issued a score card which will be valid for the period of one year from the date of issue.

2. What are Recruiting Bank's requirement?
A.Each bank which desires to recruit candidate for the post of clerical cadre, entry level officer cadre and specialist officer cadre will invite applications from the candidates who hold valid score cards from IBPS, by specifying eligibility criteria in terms of age, education qualification and minimum score obtained in the common written exams.

3. How is the Recruiting Bank's selection process?
A. The bank will carry out selection process from the applicants with the valid IBPS Score Card following interviews, group discussions etc. as decided by the bank.

4. Which are the banks participating for Common Written Exams(CWE)?
A. The banks participating for the Common Written Exams are as under:

The above method of selection has the approval of Government of India and the consent of Board members of each participation banks. A valid Score Card issued by IBPS will be Pre-requisite for the candidates applying for the above mentioned exams.
IBPS issues notification for conducting examinations which includes minimum eligibility in terms of age, education qualification etc, Guidelines regarding the payment of application fees application process, tentative dates of examination, Structure of examination, issue of call letter etc.

5. What are general topics covered in the examination?
A. The Bank Exam or the CWE exam may contain one or more of the following section:
1) Test of Reasoning
2) Test of English Language
3) Test of Numerical Ability
4) Test of General Awareness
5) Test of Computer Knowledge
